1976 Porsche 912E Coupe, 2.0L 4cyl 5-Speed, Sunroof, Leather, Fuchs 14s, So Nice
Here is a absolutely drop dead gorgeous, 1976 Porsche 912E that is in very nice condition inside and out. This is a totally cosmetically redone, dry climate car that is a blast to drive. It is a very clean, unmolested car that has been very well kept over the years. This is a 2 owner car with the current owner purchasing from the original owner out of Woodland Hills, CA in 2005 at around 180k Miles. Around that time engine and transmission were removed, fully overhauled and resealed and given a fresh clean bill of health. Only 20k miles have been put on the car in last 18 years. There are a lot of service records with this car.
This is a late production car and is number 1938 of only 2099 912E ever produced for US sales in 1976! This 912E Coupe had an original MSRP of $11,560 all the back in 1976! This is a fully documented car and still retains its original 2.0L drive train which is definitely something you do not see every day. There is nothing cooler than a driving vintage Porsche!
The following is a list of options as this 912E is currently equipped:
-2.0L Flat Four Cylinder Engine
-Type 923/02 Five Speed Manual Transmission
-Fuchs 14" Aluminum Rims
-Hankook Radial Tires
-Bucket Seats Leather
-5 Gauge Dash with Tachometer
-Aftermarket Sound System
-Space Saver Spare with Original Tools
-Etc.....
The exterior of the car is re-finished to its original color of Code 936 Silver Metallic. The car has had only one re-spray its life and was a nice job. Overall the paint is a very nice paint job which was nicely wet sanded and buffed afterwards, and the body is extremely straight and well prepped. The body is totally solid and is as straight as an arrow, showing no evidence of body work or accidents. All door gaps appear to be factory original and correct. Overall the underside of the pan is completely solid and rust free as any west coast car should be. Only a few very bubbles have popped up an inch below rear window from sunroof drain tubes most likely. All the weather stripping on the car is soft, supple and brand new.
The car is riding on nicely restored 14" Fuchs wheels. The tires are 14" Hankook radials and are from 2020.
The very nice factory red interior is all new and looks excellent. The seats, door panels, carpet, and headliner all looks perfect and really set the car off. All the gauges and lights work as they should. The original radio and speakers were replaced with a high dollar sound system that sounds great. All the courtesy lights as well as all the running lights work as they should. Also the lights, horn, turn signals, defroster, and even the lighter work. All the glass and rubbers look excellent.
Mechanically, this 912 is in excellent condition! The engine compartment is clean as a whistle and shows how well this car was kept. The car has all of its service history going back till brand new. The original service book is well stamped showing regular maintenance. The third owner kept a detailed log during a 10 year period showing general maintenance from about 56k to about 70k. I new clutch was noted in 1988 at around 69k miles. A local Porsche shop in Tempe, AZ, looked the car over for me and did a few small things including repairing the smog pump, going through and dialing in the original fuel injection, and installing new steering wheel bushings. The car was given a clean bill of health and I was told the motor has excellent leak down compression! Both the Engine and Trans are factory numbers matching. The suspension is tight and true and handles as a Porsche should. The odometer reads a bit over 200000 miles, which is traced in the service records, as well as documented by the Actual Miles Arizona title. All systems work and the car has zero issues and is a true pleasure to drive. This little diamond and is ready for the next cruise night or car show.
The bonnet is in excellent condition and still retains all of its factory carpeting as well as the space saver spare with the original jack and 100% complete tool pouch. Also all three gas struts have been replaced on the bonnet lid as well as the engine compartment.
