Canyon State Classics is pleased to bring to market a legally imported 1993 TVR Chimaera 400 Roadster. The car was purchased from Amore Autos LTD in Bristol and was imported in January of this year. It is a right hand drive. The sound of the car is amazing and one of the reasons why these cars are known worldwide. These cars are made out of a fiberglass body and is paired with a powerful V8 engine with a 5 speed manual. The car looks amazing in Classic British Racing Green with Kahn Design RSR 17" wheels really setting off the post-retro sports car.
This car received a full body off restoration in the last 5 years and had everything pulled off the frame and was completely powder coated and reassembled. At that time the engine was refreshed and resealed and does not leak. Fires up every time.
MODEL HISTORY
TVR is an independent British manufacturer of lightweight sports cars with powerful engines. The company was, at one time, the third-largest specialist sports car manufacturer in the world. The abbreviation TVR stems from the name of the company's owner Trevor Wilkinson. The Chimaera was first produced in 1993. The name was derived from Chimera, the monstrous creature of Greek mythology, which was made of the parts of multiple animals.
The car was designed by Peter Wheeler, John Ravenscroft and was based on the Griffith's running gear and chassis but was fitted with a softer suspension set up, with Bilstein dampers and a rear anti-roll bar. The car was originally provided with a 4-liter or 4.3-liter version of the Rover V8, axle fitted to the Griffith. There were about 6,000 produced in total.
The car starts right away, shifts smoothly and runs amazing. This car is meant to be driven and it is a blast to drive. It gets a lot of attention as most people have never heard of this manufacturer. Please contact Jon 480-703-2337 to schedule a showing of the vehicle. Car has a free and clear Arizona title and can be transferred to 49 states. Not sure about California Emissions.
