1959 Rambler Cross Country Custom Station Wagon - CA Black Plate Car- Beautiful Restoration
Here is a beautiful 1959 Rambler Cross Country station wagon in great condition inside and out. This car is a gorgeous example of the rare 6 passenger station wagon. Although production was not particularly low, very few examples survived the ravages of time, rust, and being used up and driven into the ground. This particular example lived its entire life in southern California and is believed to have 108,000 original miles. It has received a mild restoration, but still retains a very stock look. The car retains its original California black license plates and even its original plate frame from Snider Rambler in Turlock, CA!
-195ci Inline 6
-3 Speed Automatic Transmission
-Original 15" Wheels
-Original AM Radio
-All Correct Trim
The exterior on the car is an absolutely stunning color combination. The car is a solid California car, and with the low miles you don't have to worry about rust, just see how clean all of the door jambs look! The car is finished in its original color of Cotillion Mauve with a pink cove. The chrome and trim is all original but in very nice original condition with a few scuffs and dings here and there. All glass and rubbers are in nice original condition. The car is riding on original 15" steel wheels with original Rambler hubcaps with like new Coker tires. One of the coolest things on this old Rambler are the 60s era stickers on the back window showing all the states the original owners took their Rambler on a cross country tour!
The matching interior is mostly original, but seats redone in original style and patterns and is in exceptional condition. The seats are in great shape and have no tares or rips and no ware at all on the drivers seat. The dash and all door panels are beautiful and look like new! The steering wheel has the original horn button and is nice and crack free. All gauges and lights work correctly.
Mechanically, this Rambler runs GREAT! Everything is fresh with low miles on the build out. The engine compartment is all original with nice washer bag. The engine appears to have been out and recently rebuilt. Transmission is a pushbutton 3 speed and shifts nicely.
All in all, this is one very nice, low mileage wagon.
It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners.
These 50's era wagons are becoming more and more collectible as the older ones disappear into collections, especially well maintained low mileage western cars like this example. It is an investment because with the kind of condition it is and its classic bodylines, it is now and will forever be a classic. This car has a clean clear California Title.
